How did you hone your craft?

I have over 30 years of photorealistic drawing experience & a BFA in oil painting & photography. My cats started getting into the oil paints post-graduation; so for the sake of their health & my sanity, I made the switch to a non-toxic, quick drying, water soluble medium. My watercolour technique is a self-taught process that incorporates my favourite elements of pencil & oil and includes a good bit of trial & error, unpredictability & continued experimentation.

What tip would you give pet parents for working with animals that you've learned as a pro?

Choosing the right photo reference is important, and I'm happy to help with the process. The quality of your photo will determine the level of detail I'm able to achieve, so the better the lighting & focus, the more accurate your portrait will be.

What is one thing you want pet parents to know about you? It can be whatev-fur you'd like!

Every portrait I paint carries my kitties' stamp of approval.
