Idylwood Farm Retirement Horse Boarding - White Post, VA
We offer retirement boarding, here in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. It is full board. horses are brought in twice a day, to their own, individual feed stalls. we feed the real Purina Equine Senior. Horses have hay in front of them at all times, as well as water, through automatic waterers, and large tanks. we have large run in sheds in every field, that have fans in them which run during the hot summer months. The board fee includes routine worming, and a barefoot trim every 6 weeks. Special needs horses are no problem. We have been in the retirement boarding business since 2003, and that is ALL we do. we are not a show barn. You are welcome to come visit your horse anytime. no need to tell us in advance or set up an appointment. Feel free to contact us to discuss your personal horses' needs. Please contact and book our horse boarding stables on Petworks. Thank You.

How did you hone your craft?
I have been in horses, showing & training for 40 years. My husband has been as well. I was the Animal Control Officer for our county for nearly a decade. I have learned through classes of continuing education required for my job, and from personally dealing with horses/vets/dentist/farriers.
What tip would you give pet parents for working with animals that you've learned as a pro?
Older horses need to be watched more carefully for their feed requirements, as they do not digest as easily as they did when they were younger. and absolutely have dental work done once a year.
What is one thing you want pet parents to know about you? It can be whatev-fur you'd like!
we have horses here with us from all over the United States. All of our boarders will recommend us, and you are welcome to contact any or all of them.
