How did you hone your craft?

I completed two years of graduate level field training working with human-animal relationships, and spent 15 years working as a counselor in veterinary hospitals, specializing in crisis work, end of life consultation and grief support. I have also completed many hours of continuing education in grief and traumatic grief, including the Advanced Bereavement Facilitator Training via the American Academy of Bereavement.

What tip would you give pet parents for working with animals that you've learned as a pro?

Be mindful of every moment you have with them, and remember the countless ways you have loved and supported them over the course of their too-short lives.
