I'm a Pet End of Life Doula. (Pet Death Doula. PDD). I struggled with the decision of "is it time?" with my 16 year old pug. I felt the uncertainty and guilt. I didn't know what to do.
The day I let my Brutus go, I was alone in my grief. So many people feel like animals are less important somehow than humans so I was told to get over it. "It's just a dog." This was many years ago, a time when there were no resources for those grieving a pet. The before, during and after are all painful. That's why I do what I do.
As a Pet Death Doula I am your emotional support, your safe person, your resource and your witness to honor you and your pet.
My skill set makes me uniquely qualified for this role. Massage and Reiki are both used for palliative and hospice care, giving relief from physical pain and anxiety, while providing a loving presence for the animal. Animal communication can help bridge the gap between person and pet, providing relief and comfort for the person who often wants to know how their pet feels or what they are thinking. For example: I've been shown who the pet will reincarnate as and I've been given another pet's intense feeling of love for their person. These were incredibly valuable moments for the owners. To have their pet living or passed respond in such a way was profoundly impactful.

Your dog will not always let you know when something is wrong. But the body doesn't lie. I can show you how to touch base with what I call Silent Suffering, the triggers in the body that betray a hidden pain that even vets rarely find.
