How did you hone your craft?
My deep interest and passion for animals since childhood led me on the pathway to animal massage therapy, and also massage therapy, physical therapy, surgical nursing, and hospital nursing for humans. I have honed my craft by studying with experts in the field, completing national and international certification, and working with racing thoroughbreds, trail horses, hunters/jumpers, farm horses, show dogs, cats, other personal pets, and other animals. I specialize in post-surgical scar massage, chronic muscle tension, acute injuries and chronic injury status, pre-race or show warm-up and post- race or show cool down, relief from arthritis, reduction of swelling, pain reduction, stress reduction and relaxation, and end-of-life love.
What tip would you give pet parents for working with animals that you've learned as a pro?
Though animals cannot speak with words, they will tell you in other ways what you need to know. Your attentiveness and recognition of your pet's or race/show horse's or other animal's health and well-being is crucial to their life and their ability to feel safe.
What is one thing you want pet parents to know about you? It can be whatev-fur you'd like!
I grew up on a farm, surrounded by, for years, over one hundred animals. I've been emotionally connected to animals on many different levels since a very young age. I've worked within the private sector, in communities, at equine training facilities, and at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.
